About My Hotel

Let me welcome you to the northwestern coast of the Island of Elba, which is the most beautiful and best conserved area of the entire island - ideal for snorkeling, diving and kayaking. The mountains that surround the gulf of Cape Sant’Andrea offer the possibility to go hiking, mountain biking, bird watching and free climbing, and are of great botanical interest.

In case you didn’t know, Elba is a small island located just a handful of miles out of the coast of Tuscany. It is the third largest Italian island after Sicily and Sardinia and the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago. Still, it is small enough to be considered a “man size” island

My hotel is called Hotel Ilio and it is set in the midst of the magnificent green landscape you can admire in the picture above. It is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday where the sea is “really” just outside your door: three hundred steps through the countryside will take you to the beach, two hundred to the cliffs.

The hotel was founded in 1959 and in 1989 I set up the ELBATUTTANATURA ® project, making Hotel Ilio the first “all-nature” boutique hotel on the entire island. My goal was to give my guests the opportunity to take full advantage of the nature that surrounds us.

“Pomegranate”, “Lemon”, “Geranium”, etc. are the names I have given to the hotel’s rooms and I have chosen them for a reason. All you need to do is to look out of your window or balcony to admire the plant your room is named after.

If you would like to be my guest at Hotel Ilio, let me suggest a couple of links from which to start:
